At Burnley High School, Parent Voice is important to us – research shows that parental/carer involvement is key to ensuring progress and outcomes for pupils are outstanding. We want parents, carers, pupils, teachers, school staff and the wider community to work together to support our school.
With this in mind, we are keen to make sure parents/carers of pupils at our school have the opportunity to meet and discuss in an open forum about how Burnley High School is run and get involved in shaping our future. This will be in the form of regular meetings of the ‘Friends of Burnley High School’, a group whose focus will be on a range of topics, including the care, provision and support for our pupils.
Meetings will take place approximately once a term, with newsletters sent out to members on a more frequent basis.
Should you wish to become a member of the Friends of Burnley High School group, or attend the first meeting, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org/burnley . Details of the first meeting, which will focus on the fundraising required for the expansion into the other side of the building, will be shared via the Friends of BHS e-mail group.
In the first meeting, a Parent /Carer Chair will also be nominated – should you wish to put yourself forward for this role, please contact me on 01282 704300 to discuss the requirements of the role.
We very much hope you will consider becoming part of the Parent/Carer group and look forward to hearing from you.
