Students provided a showcase of talent for Burnley High School’s Christmas performance.
Class by class the pupils took to the stage at the impressive Life Church to bring their own festive message to a packed audience of parents, friends and staff.
From the traditional nativity to thought-provoking pieces highlighting the plight of the homeless at Christmas, the students provided an evening they could be proud of.
They also portrayed the harsh differences between their own Christmas experiences and those facing the children of refugees.
And in a snapshot of days gone by some of the Year Eights revisited the famous Christmas Day truce and no man’s land football match enjoyed by British and German troops during World War One.
Head of School Mrs Dawn Forshaw said: “It was a wonderful evening made even more wonderful by Life Church allowing us the use of their fantastic facilities. Our thanks go to them.
“I think I speak for everyone in the audience when I say the students excelled even their high standards. At times I found it difficult to watch so strong was the emotion coming from the stage.”
